Brunswick native the Rev. J. Eben Carson, 41, of Sylvester died Friday in Albany.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Brunswick with the Revs. E. A. "Bud" Abbott, John Carr and Dr. Ray McGuire officiating.
Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Morgan, Keith Morgan, Carl Morgan, Jeff Morgan, Mickey Wendel and Bernie Roberson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Baptist pastors of Mallory and Altamaha Assoc. and members of the Georgia Baptist Convention Executive Board.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Sunday night.
The family requests memorials be made to the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, Va., or Bryant Drive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 4, Sylvester.
Surviving are a daughter, Laney Carson of Albany; a son, Morgan Carson of Albany; his mother, Pauline M. Carson of Brunswick; a sister Willeen Burke of Douglas; a brother, Glenn Carson of Charleston, S.C.; a niece, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He had been resident of Sylvester for two years. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy, Brunswick College, Georgia Southern University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He was pastor of Bryant Drive Baptist Church in Sylvester and formerly pastored Poulan Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Jesup.
He was a member of the executive board of the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Board of Trustees of Baptist Village in Waycross and was former adjunct professor of Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon.
