She was 18 years younger than her husband Mose. She was a widow at age 42, and never remarried. She lived to be 85, and passed about a year after being diagnosed with Alzheimer disease.
She and her husband, James Moses "Little Mose" Fox were second cousins
Their fathers, William McKelly Fox and James Skelton "Kell" Fox were first cousins
Their grandfathers, Mose James Fox and john Ellis Fox were brothers
They had the same Great Grandparents: William Moses Fox and Morning (Ayers) Fox
Memories of Memaw Fox (Connie (Fox) Seibert):
Memaw was the sweetest person you'ld ever want to meet. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a widow at age 42 and never remarried. She was very independent after Papaw died. She opened her own little store and supported herself. As she got older the family got to "share" her. She would live a few years with each of her children and help raise all her grandchildren. Her final years was spent with her youngest child-Rethia and her family. At age 84 she got Alzheimers disease and Rethia had to put her in a Nursing Home. She lived one more year and left us at age 85 years
Whenever Memaw would answer the telephone she always said the same 7 words:
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
I asked her why she always said that. She replied, "Well, honey, I know when somebody calls me I figure they need something, or else they wouldn't be calling"
I just thought that was so funny, and so true.,
Another thing she always said was, "honey, go catch me a glass of water" (out of the faucet). When I asked why she said "Catch water?", her reply was, "well, its a-running aint it!"
