He was born November 16, 1895, in Jersey City, N.J. and has resided in Humboldt county for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Semper Virens Lodge, F. & A. M. and the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue H. Newton of Eureka; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Connor and a grandson, Alan Connor, both of Eureka; a brother, William Newton of Jersey City, N. J.; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Bieber of Jersey City, N. J.; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Pierce mortuary, with Rev. Gregory Morony officiating. Interment will follow in Ocean View cemetery.
