KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Julia Ann Marcum, age 52, of West Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Monday evening, March 23, 2009, at her home following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Julia was a lifelong member of Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She taught children's Sunday school classes for many years. Julia retired from the U.S. Department of Energy. She loved her family dearly, and was especially devoted to her nieces and nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Marcum; and brother, Jimmy Marcum.

She is survived by brothers, Jerry (Barbara) Marcum, Ronnie (Shelia) Marcum, Wayne Marcum, and Jackie Marcum; sisters, Sue (Robert) Beeler, Cheryl (Arnold) Estes, Gina (Larry) Harmon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; special friends, Edward Norman and Jane Lowe.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with services to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Randall Mayfield, the Rev. Steve Owenby and the Rev. Don Hubbard officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Friday at Marietta Church Cemetery for graveside services and interment.
