"Mrs. Bessie I. Adams, 82, of 214 E. Market St., Lititz, widow of Jerry K. Adams, died Oct. 16 in General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Grumbine Engle. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz, and was active in the Missionary Society. She also belonged to the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
Three daughters and a son survive: Irene E., wife of John V. Ross, Lititz; Grace, wife of Walter Landis, Lititz; Viola M., Wife of Elmer R. Miller, Lititz; and Willard C., Wrightsville.
Also, surviving are 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three sisters survive: Mrs. Margie Adams; Annie, wife of William Zell; and Emma, wife of William B. Fry, all of Lititz. Services will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church Friday afternoon with Rev. Ralph Bornman officiating. Interment in Machpelah Cemetery."
