DELAND - Claire Nelson Crosley, 71, of Flowing Well Road, died July 15, 2006, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial. Services were scheduled 1 p.m. today, Thursday, July 20, in the chapel of Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave. in DeLand, with Pastor Mike Carroll officiating.

Mrs. Crosley was a homemaker. Born in Cincinnati and reared in Miami Springs, she moved to this area in 1980 from Miami Springs.

She graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.

Mrs. Crosley was a member and director of the Hontoon Area Civic Association in DeLand, and a longtime member of the Miami Springs Junior Woman's Club.

S he was preceded in death by her parents, Helen F. and Dr. Coleman Nelson, and her former husband, Houston Crosley.

Mrs. Crosley is survived by three sons, Coleman of Sunrise, Houston Jr. of DeLand, and Nelson C. of Brevard, N.C.; daughters-in-law Sallie, Jean and Vicky; one daughter, Helen C. Crosley Baker of Crittenden, Ky.; her longtime companion, Stu Mix of DeLand; and six grandchildren, Lindsay Anne Crosley, Ryan Crosley, Brooke Crosley, Danial Baker, Michele Baker and Houston Crosley.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174-9430, or to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., No. 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Lankford was in charge.
