Mrs. Boggess was born near Waverly, Oh., Jan. 14, 1838, and when she was 10 years of age her parents removed to Illinois, settling near Danville. Since 1882 she has made her home on farm where her death occurred, 2 ½ miles northwest of Decatur on the Boiling Springs road. She was married in 1859 to C.W. Boggess, whose death occurred in 1901. Her nearest surviving relative is her son, J. A. Boggess with whom she lived. (Herald and Review, Decatur, IL, March 20, 1919)
