The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 1997, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev.
Roger Atkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Stokes County on June 13, 1915, son of the late George Watson & Tempie Jane Snyder Smith, and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Sisk Smith of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Burton (Kathy) Conner of Stuart, VA.;two sons, J.D. (Elaine) Smith of Mayodan and David (Sandy) Smith of Danbury; Sharon Amos, Lisa Turnage, & Kiley Conner; one stepgranddaughter, Kristy McGee; four sisters, Rena Steele of Farmsville, VA.,Edith Gilley of Lawsonville, Violet Boswell of Reidsville, & Emma Talley of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Luther Smith of Madison & Hassell Smith of Lawsonville.
The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Friday at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, and other times at the home.
