D.J. Barker, 57, died Thursday, May 28, at his home near the Stamford Cotton Oil Mill, northwest of the city, after an illness of some time. Mr. Barker had been employed by the oil mill for the past eight years.
Survived: wife, Mrs. Delia Barker; one daughter - Mrs. Ruth Johnson; one brother; three sisters.
Funeral service was held at Kinney’s Funeral home Friday afternoon, May 29, conducted by Rev. M.B. Harris. Interment was in Highland cemetery.
