Services for James Burley Barnwell, retired cabinet maker, who died in Pensacola, Florida last Wednesday, April 25, 1957, were held Monday afternoon in the First Baptist Church with Reverend John Brill officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Mr. Barnwell was born May 13, 1883 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Survivors include his wife, Lolia of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Florene Shepherd of Wagoner; Mrs. Della Whisenhunt, Weatherford; Mrs. Mozell Carmichael of Pensacola, Florida and three grandchildren.
Active pallbearers at the Masonic service were; Paul Hersman, Lee Harvey, Frank Whiteley, Albert Hutchins, Frank Shirley, Marion Cleland. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. H.H. Deatherage, John Copeland, Bill Price, Elmer White, Earl Smith, Bob Hill, Clyde Garvin and Bob Jeffrey.
