Harry L. "Roy" Brickle
DAWSON — Harry L. "Roy" Brickle, 74, of Dawson, died Thursday, April 5, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chickasawhatchee Baptist Church with the Rev. Emil Askew and the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.
Mr. Brickle was born on June 17, 1932, in Tift County. He was the son of the late Harry Lafayette Brickle and Annie Mae Stivender Brickle. He moved to Terrell County in 1988 and was a master cabinet maker, mechanic, electrician and Baptist minister. He served in several churches during his ministry, including New Bethel Baptist Church in Tifton, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dawson and as associate pastor at the Bronwood Baptist Church in Bronwood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harry L. Brickle Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Register Brickle of Dawson; two daughters, Sonia Prescott (Russ) of Bronwood and Susan Brickle of Blackshear; two brothers, Edward L. Brickle (Ann) of Tequesta, Fla., and Bobby J. Brickle (Juanita) of Tifton; four sisters, Trudy Haley of Lenox, Willa Inman (John) of Albany, Maxine Gibson (Dan) and Wilhelmenia Talley (Buddy), both of Chula; three grandchildren, Luke Prescott (Kristen) of Gonzales, La., and Haley Prescott and Graham Prescott, both of Bronwood; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debbie Hinson of Blackshear.
