ANITA JOANN WILLIS ALLEN
MARS HILL: Anita Joann Willis Allen, 49, of 102 Lloyd Drive, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at John F. Keever Solace Center. She was born in Buncombe County and the daughter of Mafra Blankenship Willis and the late Lee Willis.
Prior to her illness Anita was employed at My Sisters Place as a Domestic Violence Counselor and was a member of California Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband Larry Dean Allen, stepdaughters; Brianna, Bridgett and Brooke Allen, sister, Iva Shelton and husband Gerald of Kennesaw, Georgia, brother, Steve Willis and wife Joyce of Gastonia, N. C. and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2009 at Upper Laurel Baptist Church where the body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Rev. Cline Hensley Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
