Mrs. J. H. Statler, 87 Of Jackson Dies;
Rites Will Be on Saturday

JACKSON – Mrs. John H. Statler, 87 years old, died of complications of hardening arteries at 6 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Turner Smith, in Jackson.

Born Minnie Friese, Feb. 25, 1868, in Cape County, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Friese. She was married to John Henry Statler, who died 10 years ago. For the last few years Mrs. Statler has been living with her children, but before that she resided at Sedgewickville, where she was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

She leaves a son, Homer Statler of Fredericktown; four daughters, Mrs. Turner Smith of Jackson, Mrs. Ora Hahs and Mrs. Rosewell Smith of Sedgewickville, and Miss Anna Statler of Los Angeles, Calif., who does not plan to return for the rites; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Linebarger of Jackson; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The body is at Deneke-Laird Funeral Home where it will remain until Saturday when funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church at Sedgewickville.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
