John T. "Jack" Murphy, Sr. age 90, of Cortlandt Manor died on Feb. 11, 2009. Born on November 19, 1918 in Liverpool, England he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine (McCormack) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was an assistant computer technician for Lakeland School District. A parishioner of St. Columbanus Church, Past Grand Knight, 4th Degree Life Member and a member of the color guard of the Knights of Columbus, Father Paul Council #4012, and an avid Ham Radio operator.

Survivors include two sons John T. (Chris) Murphy Jr. of Middletown and James B. (Maureen) Murphy of Montrose and one daughter, Marian (Nick) LeGrand of Greenville, SC. One sister, Winifred O'Hanlon Foy of Treasure Island, Florida, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandson also survive.

He was predeceased by his wife the late Kathleen M. Kane in 1996. One daughter, Kathleen (Joe) Williamson, and one son, Peter G. (Denise) Murphy, also predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Columbanus church on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to call at the Clinton Funeral Home 728 North Division Street, Peekskill, NY on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
