Steve Carlton Allen, 55, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 at Appling HealthCare System. Steve was born Dec. 9, 1953 in Savannah to Alva Grace Kicklighter Allen and the late James Carlton Allen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Allen and brother-in-law, Jimmy Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Hughes Allen of Baxley; mother, Alva Grace Allen of Baxley; sister, Cindy A. Reynolds of Baxley; two brothers, Phil Allen and Mark Allen of Baxley; brother-in-law, George F. List; special sister-in-law, Teresa Dees; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Chynna, Penny, Gipsy and Bear.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Dyal officiating. Eulogy was given by Jerry Williams. Burial followed in Appling Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Josh Reynolds, John Reynolds, Phillip Allen, Chris Allen, Chad Allen and Glen Gay.
Honorary pallbearers were Georgia Home Health Care Staff, Mike and Sheila Rentz, Tony Harrell, Jerry Sellers, Diane Bennett and Dr. Teresa Cezar.
Musical selections were rendered by Glynda Reeves.
