Marjorie R. Parsons, 88, Fort Roberdeau Avenue, Altoona, died Saturday at Altoona Hospital. She was born in Altoona, to William Wallace and Ethel (Swartz) Reid. She married William K. Parsons July 1, 1983, to whom she was a devoted and loving wife. Surviving are her husband; three stepdaughters: Virginia Cryar of Conroe, TX, Georgia Raszkiewicz and husband, Stan, of St. Petersburg, FL, and Joan Kuraitis and husband, Vito, of Bettendorf, IW; one sister, Kathleen (Reid) Peterman; one brother, Robert Reid of Spokane, WA; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty (Reid) Grove; and a brother, William Reid. Marjorie graduated from Altoona High School in 1938. She was employed as an office manager at Parsons Agency and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and roller skating and was an avid Penn State football fan. She belonged to the Navy League and the National Secretaries Assn. and volunteered on the Super Tuesday project at First Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Fri., Feb. 13, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at The Good Funeral Home @ Alto Reste Park, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment, Alto Reste Park.
