Wilda LuElla Keister, 76, of Shippenville RD, died Thursday evening, Aug. 30, 2001, at Clarion Hospital. Born March 17, 1925, in Shippenville RD, she was a daughter of William W. and Ella C. Cohlhepp Kapp. Mrs. Keister was a lifelong resident of the Shippenville RD area. She attended Shippenville High School. Mrs. Keister worked at Courtney Manufacturing in Elk City, at Purinton Pottery in Shippenville, as a baker at Rheas Restaurant and also at the Carriage Inn in Knox. Mrs. Keister was a member of the Clarion Christian Women's Club, and a lifetime member of the Pine City United Methodist Church and the Pine City Recreation Hall. She was an avid quilter, seamstress and baker. She was married March 24, 1941, to John W. Keister Sr., who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 2000. Surviving are twelve children and their spouses, Mrs. Patricia Knight and her husband, Ralph, Jayson Keister and his wife, Debora, all of Knox, Mrs. Jackie Groner and her husband, Robert, of Warren, Ohio, Gary Keister of Lucinda, John W. Keister Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Venus, Charles Keister and his wife, Vickie, and Randall Keister and his wife, Carla, all of Sherman, Texas, William T. Keister and his wife, Mary Lou, of Pueblo, Colo., Lindy Keister and his wife, Ginger, and Mrs. Dixie Mong and her husband, Shawn, all of Shippenville, Mrs. Nancy Jeannerat and her husband, Rodney, of Marble, and Nathan Keister and his wife, Abbie, of Plano, Texas; 40 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a sister, Sophia Heasley and her husband, Garner, of Marion, Ind. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister, Calvert Kapp, Earl Kapp, Henry Kapp, John Kapp, Glenn Kapp and Mabel Beichner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Pine City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Bartholomew, pastor, officiating, and the Rev. Charles Jack, pastor of Knox United Methodist Church, assisting. Interment will be in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville. The family suggests memorials be made to the Pine City Recreational Hall or the Pine City United Methodist Church.
