Norris was a graduate of both Cleburne High School and the University of Texas, as well as Kelly Field (the West Point of the Air). He died in a Bonham hospital, where he was taken after being found unconscious in his successfully landed airplane. A full military funeral was given Norris, an instructor at Randolph Field, in San Antonio on the 9th; burial was in Cleburne on the 10th.
