In the middle of his Senior year of high school, his family had to move to Maryland, as his step-father was in the Navy, and he was transfered there.
After completing high school in Maryland, Dave joined the Army and became a Chaplain's assistant, while at the same time, playing on an Army baseball team in Germany.
One of the years Dave was in Germany, his team won the European Baseball Championship.
Dave had a series of jobs, after he got out of the army. He eventually went to work for UPS, and advanced to the level of Southwestern Manager. After retiring from UPS, Dave went to work for Grossmont School Distict in San Diego County and retired again some years later.
Dave had a lovely singing voice and played the guitar and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with Hawaiian music and many other types of music.
Dave had fond memories of beautiful Hawaii, and enjoyed working in his garden, where he tended several of his native plants, carefully transported to California by relatives.
David married Anne Yvonne Gagne and had two daughters.
Survivors include his daughters and six grandchildren.
After David passed away, it was discovered that David also had a son, who was born in 1956, while David was in high school.
