Funeral services for Kenneth "Jack" Leonard, 62, of Milburn, were held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Milburn Baptist Church, Rev. Aubrey Irons officiating. Interment followed in the Condon Grove Cemetery. Mr. Leonard passed away on Tursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in Durant following gall bladder surgery.
Jack was born on Dec. 20, 1946, in Fillmore to Virgil Leonard and Dorothy Duncan Leonard. He graduated from Milburn High School in 1966 and was a lifelong resident of Johnston County. He married Edna Gibson on Feb. 20, 1969, in Dallas, Texas. Jack drove a truck for several until his health caused him to retire.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddraughter, Kelsi Rae-Leeann Leonard.
Jack is survived by his wife Edna of the home; his step-daughter, Laura Jean Wallace of Kansas; three sons, Kenneth Leonard and wife Cindy and Tommy Leonard and wife Jane, all of Milburn, and David Howard and wife Jessica of Texas; his brother, Edward Leonard and wife Linda of Mill Creek; his sisters, Emma Grundy and Edna Leonard, both of Tishomingo, and Lanora Ratliff and husband G.L. of Tishomingo; and numerous other relatives.
D.J. Leonard, Keegan Leonard, Brandon Russell, Eddie Gibson, Larry Russell and Jody Burns served as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Cody Leonard, Chris Russell, Clint Rawls, Scott James, Rick Justice and Michael Leonard.
Services were held under the directionof Clark Funeral Service, Tishomingo.
