Sept. 17, 1862 he was wounded in Antietam, Maryland.
May 31, 1863 he was promoted to corporal.
Dec. 1, 1863 he mustered out and re-enlisted.
He was in the battles of Roanoke Island, New Bern, North Carolina. The Second Bull Run, Chantilly, Spotsylvania Court House, Petersburg, Virginia and the Battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was wounded again at Spotsylvania Court House Virginia.
June 25, 1865 he mustered out in Petersburg, Virginia.
