Carmen Lynn O'Neal, 34, born 24 Oct 1968, of the Lulaton Community, passed away early Sunday morning, 24 Nov 2002, at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center, following an illness of several weeks.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Tyler O'Neal and her grandparents, Charlie O'Neal and Margie Byrd O'Neal, and Charlie Harden.

Carmen was a talented hairdresser and had worked in Nahunta and Jesup before deciding to travel.

Survivors include her daughter, Maegan Highsmith of Nahunta; her son, James E. "Jamie" Morgan, of Hortense; her father James O'Neal of Nahunta; her mother, Linda Harden Roberson (Steve) of Hortense; one sister, Robin (Jeff) Crow of Mentone, AL; one brother, Wendell O'Neal (Angela) of Jesup; her grandfather, W. S. "Johnny" Jones of Waycross; her maternal grandmother, Nina Harden, of Jesup; her life companion, Davey Able; four nieces, six nephews, several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from the Lulaton Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Manning and Monroe Gill officiating. Musical selections included "Go Rest High on That Mountain" by Philip Rowell. Burial followed in the Knox Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Perry Young, Rocky Dixon, Andy Johns, Billy Crews, Jeff Johns and Tony L. King.

Joel Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta assisted the family with arrangements.
