John C. Neil, 49, Altoona, died Sunday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of Ronald E. Neil and Shirley A. Webber. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Ronald W. Neil of Altoona; and a nephew, Ronald M. Neil. John was preceded in death by a niece, Kimberly Ann O'Donnell. He was employed as an assistant general manager ''coach'' at Sam's Club, Altoona, with 15 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he had served as a eucharistic minister. Mr. Neil was a 1977 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He was a loving and thoughtful son and friend. He enjoyed photography, work and all homeless animals. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. today, Jan. 15, and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be celebrated today during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, with Monsignor Stanley B. Carson officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
