Resolutions of Respect
Whereas, it hath pleased almighty God in his wisdom to take from us our worthy brother, John C. Turrentine, on the 18th of June, 1894, and whereas he possessed all the sterling qualities which made him a useful member of the church, Sunday school and Y.P.S.C.E.
"John", as he was best known by his friends and acquaintances, was a good boy, obedient and kind to his parents, affectionate and true to his relatives, respectful and obliging to his friends. He was very quiet and unassuming in his manner, but positive and firm in his character. These elements and traits of character made him the solid, beloved son, the kind, helpful brother and friend, the true substantial man that he was.
He professed religion in early life, and joined the Methodist Church, of which he remained a member through life.
He was brought from Fla., to his home near Bashams Gap, where he remained until his death and his body deposited in the cemetery at Andrew Chapel, where, in the presence of his many friends and heart-broken relatives, the last farewell was said, till we meet in the Christian's home in glory to part no more.
