Davids mother deserted the family and came to Topeka, changing her married name from Steidley to Stadley. When David's father died in an accidental electrocution at the Mooar Plant in Mooar, Lee Co Iowa. David was sent to Topeka with his sister Hazel Steidley Burgen, buried near him, and they had a new spelling of their last name.
He served in the military, KANSAS PFC 127 FIELD ARTY BN WWII
He cared for his ailing mother in law, Mable R (Reynolds) Rosevelt as his own mother, when he married her daughter Erma. He was a wonderful father to their children, treasuring David Lee, who was born 'Special'.
David died of lung problems he suffered from working for a Cement Company.
