=====
He was the son of Thomas D. & Harriet (Ingalls) Redlon; his siblings were Grandville Redlon, Francina (Redlon) Martin, Lucy (Redlon) York, Louisa Redlon, Ruxley Redlon, Edward Eugene Redlon, Martha Jane (Redlon) Libby, Elizabeth Ann (Redlon) York, Isabella (Redlon) Hill, and Thomas Bertram Redlon.
He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Mariner. To this union, two known children were born: Greenleaf E. Herbert Ridlon, and Charles M.W. Ridlon.
He enlisted as a private in Company F, Maine 30th Infantry Regiment on 29 Dec 1863. His military papers state that he died of disease as did 256 other members of this brigade, but doesn't state where.
Cemetery Records of Maine Veterans - suggests death date of 15 Nov 1864, other records state 11 Nov 1864. This also suggests that he was buried in a So. Bridgton Cemetery, Sec B, Lot 15. However, his military headstone is located in this cemetery.
So now the question is, was it in a rebel prison camp as suggested by family lore??
