Barbara Ann Walther, 60, rural Tyrone, died Sunday at her home. She was born in Malad, Idaho, daughter of the late Owen M. and Ann (Wood) Harwood. She married Tom Walther, who survives. Along with her husband, Tom, she is survived by three sons: Troy J. McCurdy and his wife, Stacy, of Howard, Kirk I. McCurdy and his companion, Sandra, of Stockton, Calif., and Bradley Owen McCurdy and his wife, Anne, of Port Hueneme, Calif.; a brother, Randy O. Harwood and his wife, Jesse, of Payson, Utah; a stepson, Hank Walther and his wife, Anne, of Arlington, Va.; five grandchildren: Garrett McCurdy, Mitchell McCurdy, Logan McCurdy, Madlyn McCurdy and Courtney McCurdy; and a stepgrandson, Tyson Walther. She was a 1966 graduate of Malad High School. She worked at Mount Nittany Medical Center in patient accounts with 35 years of service. Mrs. Walther was active with her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in State College. She served as a Sunday school teacher there. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with Bishop David J. Huff officiating. Private burial will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 842 Whitehall Road, State College, PA 16801. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
