Patricia J. Hatch, 81, of 956 29th St., died Saturday at her residence after a brief illness.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Lambert M. Sr. and Florence (Hagg) Smith. She married Marvin Wayne Hatch Oct. 7, 1946, in Tyrone. He preceded her in death April 29, 1988.

She is survived by four sons: Stephen W. Hatch and wife, Diane, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Michael L. Hatch and wife, Barbara, Richard J. Hatch and wife, Michelyn, and Keith B. Hatch, all of Altoona; four daughters: Lacey Kraft and husband, John, and Annette Keltz and husband, Randy, all of Altoona, and Marcia Hatch and Pat Grabowski, both in Virginia; 11 grandchildren: Stephen Kraft, Shannon Hernandez, Nicol Epple, Jason Hatch, Justin Monro-Neely, Jake Keltz, Angela Hatch, Matthew Kraft, Aaron Hatch, Stephanie Hatch and Lauren Hatch; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lambert M. Smith Jr., and a son, David Hatch.

She was a 1945 graduate of Tyrone High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for more than 55 years, where she also was a member of the Resurrection Choir, Christian Mothers and was a lector and member of Corsilla and Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Hatch was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave. (www.stevensmortuary.com), where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 2:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church by Father Dennis Kurdziel. Committal at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests contributions be made to Home Nursing Hospice.
