Mrs. Rosa R. Kermon, 80, widow of Capt. W.J. Kermon, a defender of Fort Fisher and later engaged in the steamboat business on the Cape Fear river, died this morning at Bulluck Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Kermon was a native of Columbus county and the daughter of the late Joel Robbins and Harriet Bryant Robbins, the later of Virginia.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. George Grotgen, and the following sons and daughters; Capt. J.M. Kermon, R.M. Kermon, all of Wilmington; Mrs. C. Fullwood and Mrs. J.W. Robertson, of Rocky Mount; and Miss Alma Kermon of Raleigh. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from the home of Mrs. S.W. Sebrell, Princess Street road and Kenwood Avenue, by Dr. F. Smith Johnson, pastor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be E.S. Benson, J.S. Lane, Capt. R.M. Thompson, J.W. Fred, W.R. Dosher and Aaron Goldberg.
