Zenas Brockett, like his father, was a Deacon in the Northern Baptist Church. His home is on the National Register, because it was part of the Underground Railroad. However, there has been a problem with the marker that was put up at that site. I have a copy of Zenas's obit, which re-enforces the dates I have entered here. The Brockett Genealogy, by Edward J. Brockett, also indicates the dates I have entered as being the correct dates, and the tombstone also agrees with these dates.

The home/farm is located 1 1/2 miles South of Brockett's Bridge, and is known as "Liberty Home", at 409 Brockett, Dolgeville, CA. 13529.

It's located on Brockett Road (Rt 146), Town of Manheim, Herkimer County New York.

Six generations of the family have lived in the home.

Zenas married Candace Salisbury on 13 Mar 1832 in Norway, Herkimer County, New York. Zenas was the son of Deacon Amos Brockett and Lucy Dutton.
His middle initial may have been "S".

Children:

1) Harriet W. Brockett b: 11 MAY 1833
2) Nathaniel S. Brockett b: 4 APR 1839 in Herkimer County, N.Y.
3) Anna M. Brockett b: 15 JAN 1844 in Manheim, Herkimer Co., New York
4) Frederick D. Brockett b: 1847 in Salisbury, Herkimer Co., New York

Harriet was adopted. She married Nelson J Petrie. They had three children: Genevieve, James and Anna.
