Dies at 64
William Carleton Cort, 64, died Sunday (Dec 13, 1953) in the Veterans Administration Hospital where he was a patient five days. He had been ill three weeks.
A World War 1 veteran, he came to the Danville area in 1929.
Surviving are his wife, Rose; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Johnson of Catlin; two step-daughters, Miss Athelene Baldwin of Danville and Mrs. Dorothy Clark of Niles, Michigan; a stepson, Ralph Lee Baldwin of Danville and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Cort was a member of Anchor Lodge 980, AF&AM and the American Legion post at Royal, Indiana.
The body is at the Barrick & Sons Funeral Home where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Don Goodwin will officiate, with burial in Songer Cemetery. Masonic rites will be held.
