Darrell L. Houck, 51, LaGrange, N.C., formerly of Altoona, died Tuesday in North Carolina as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard E. Sr. and Marjorie J. (Jenkins) Houck. Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Eardley of Altoona; a son, Christopher Walker; three sisters: Connie E. Rabuck of Altoona, Gail M. Brumbaugh of Muncy and Kimberly Lindenberger of Portage; four brothers: Richard Jr., James F. and Timothy S., all of Altoona and Dale of Berwick; and a friend, Ronald Kelley in North Carolina. Darrell was an administrative assistant of the Public Works Department for the town of Mount Olive, N.C. He received from Progressive Universal Life Church ordination papers designating him as a full-pledged ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed gospel music. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, PA, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. with Pastor John D. Leatherman officiating. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
