John R. Betley "Bob"
age 71, of Wilmington, DE, died on Monday, March 27, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1954 and worked for Delaware Insulation until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid bowler at the old Parkway Lanes and enjoyed golf. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, John and Gertrude Betley O'Connor; his sister, Elaine Burton; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Betley. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn (Lawless) Betley; his son, Michael; his brother, Andrew; 2 nephews; 2 great nephews; and a great niece.
Calling hours will be Saturday morning, April 1, from 9:30-10:30 am, at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Rds., Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 301 N. Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Special Olympics, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716; or to St. Thomas Church, 301 N. Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington, DE 19805.
