Funeral services for Bertha Lee Hunter Willmon, 87, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mrs. Willmon was born February 3, 1921 in Conroe, Texas to the late Agnes and Lee Hunter, and died Monday, December 15, 2008 in a local hospital.
A former resident of Pasadena, Mrs. Willmon had resided in Lufkin for 22 years. She worked in the cafeteria at Deer Park ISD for 10 years, and was an excellent cook. She loved to fish and camp, and enjoyed working in her garden, doing crafts, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Willmon attended Lufkin First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Floyd Willmon of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Jim Everett of Katy and Rhonda and Michael Kyser of Pasadena; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Doris Hunter of Pasadena, Bill and Emily Hunter of Spring and Joe Ed and Jill Hunter of Mobile, Alabama; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willmon was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Mac McLennon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
