Dave Newsome, 67, of Ephraim, Utah, passed away on December 14, 2008 in Ephraim.
He was born July 10, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard Claudius and Ruth Helen Kooyman Newsome. He married Eva Marcele Shannon on June 23, 1963 in Ridgeley, West Virginia. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on April 23, 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Marcy, Ephraim; children, Shawna (Keven) Harr, Manti; David Newsome, Jr., Manti; Russell (Tracey) Newsome, Ephriam; Jed Newsome, Vernal; Sarah (Josh) Webb, Ephraim; Tommy Newsome, Ephraim; and Tiffanie Nunley, who was like a daughter to him; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Beverly) Newsome, Seattle, WA; Mike (Jane) Newsome, Sandy; Bob (Karen) Newsome, Seattle, WA; Dennis Newsome, West Jordan; Sheila (Bruce) Rasband, Salt Lake City; and Debbie (Randy) Jackson, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia D. Newsome; parents, Richard and Ruth; brother, Richard Garn, sister-in-law, Sharon Newsome, and granddaughter, Kelsi Ruth Webb.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 751 South 100 East in Ephraim. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel in Ephraim on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the Ward Chapel on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Ephraim Cemetery with Full Military Rites accorded by the Utah National Guard.
