MRS. BERTIE CHERRY, 71, died at 5:20 p.m. yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W. G. Hazel, on Richardsville Road following a long illness. The body will be at the residence until services at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cherry's Chapel Church, The Rev. C. G. Sledge is to officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery by the side of her husband, Jess Cherry, who died Aug. 3, 1923. Born in Warren County Oct. 1, 1882, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Lottie Lamastus Hightower. In addition to Mrs. Hazel, surviving are two other daughters, Miss Mayme Cherry and Mrs. Bernice Coleman, Baltimore, Md.; five sons, Y. P., Woodrow and Carman Cherry, Richardsville; Dennis Cherry, City, and Clarence Cherry, Owensboro; four brothers, B. M. Hightower, City; W. L. Hightower, Hadley; B. H. Hightower, Keeland, Tenn., and Hubert Hightower Richardsville; 15 grandchildren.
