DONALD EDGAR AANERUD
Donald Edgar Aanerud, 41, of 1727 Euclid Dr., Parkwood, died unexpectedly at his home Monday about 10 p.m.
He was born and reared in Morris, Minnesota, son of Cornelius H. Aanerud. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1963 and has been a resident of Durham and worked at the Duke Medical Center since leaving the service.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mildred Shepherd; four daughters, Sarah M., Donnie Lee, Jerry Lynn and Virginia S. Annerud of the home; three brothers, Howard C. Aanerud of New Mexico, Gerald R. Aanerud of California and Leroy A. Aanerud of Morris, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thursday 5:30 p.m. The body will then be taken to Washington, D.C., for graveside rites in Arlington National Cemetery Friday at 11:00 a.m.
Rev. Floyd Sides of the Christus Victor Lutheran Church and Rev. Harry Robinson of the St. Paul Lutheran Church will conduct the services.
Pallbearers will be members of the Fleet Reserve Association.
