French Camp Rites Held for J. L.Kerr
Younq Air Cadet Killed in Accident

Last rites were held at French Camp's Presbyterian church for James Lane Kerr, youngest air cadet of the Civil Air Control, who lost his life in an airplane accident near Alvin Collender air field at Belle Chasse, La. He was 18.

THE YOUTH, a native of French Camp, attended school at French Camp and was an accomplished musician, being able to play any string instrument. He was a member of the Brewen Presbyterian church in New Orleans, where he had made his home for a number of years.

Rev. Plenty Thrailkill and Rev. J. H. Thompson were in charge of the funeral services. Interment was in French Camp cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home.

PALLBEARERS were W. L. Rigby, S. A. Thompson, Clifford Rigby, J. W. Downing, Sonny Taylor, George Kent.

Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Kerr of New Orleans, he leaves his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Downing of French Camp; one sister, Betty Dell Kerr and one brother, John Davis Kerr of New Orleans.
