Joplin, Mo. Dorothy N. Raines Parkison, age 88, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008 following a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born March 17, 1920 in Monett, Mo. and had lived in Joplin most of her life.

She was employed as a sales clerk for the former Macy's Department store.

Dorothy was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church of Joplin.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Carl Raines Sr. in 1982, Raymond Ash in 1989 and Emery Parkison in 2003, and a daughter, Willa Jean Brown in 1973.

Survivors include her son, Carl Raines Jr. and wife Karen, Wichita, Kansas, two brothers, Johnnie Hicks, and Bill Hicks, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Fred Pugh officiating. Burial will be in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday the Chapel. Memorial contributions are requested to the First Christian Church of Joplin or St. John's Hospice Program in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
