Note from Sidney Newspaper:
Mrs Mary C Fitzgerald 82 lifelong resident of Sidney,died at 6:30 am Saturday morning in the family home at 503 S Frankin Ave,death bringing to a close an illness of 4 months.She had been in failing health for the past several yrs from complications.
Funeral arrangements were made for 9 am Tuesday morning from the Holy Angels Church and burial was made in Graceland cemetery.
The deceased for the past 50 yrs had reside in the present Fitzgerald home,Mrs Fitzgerald and her husband,the late Timothy Fitzgerald,having established their home there immediately following their marriage which had been solmnized in Oct of 1880
Mrs Fitzgerald before her marriage,was Miss Catherine Quinlisk,daughter of Patrick and Susanna McCormick Quinlisk,both native of Ireland and was born here on February 21 1856.
She was one of the family of six children,of whom only one survives,a brother,Jerry Quinlisk,of Sidney.Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
The late Mrs Fitzgerald devoted her entire life to her family,and her home and since the death of her husband about 34 yrs ago,she had been a father and mother both to her children.The death of her husband occur on April 11,1905.
Her passing is mourned by her 5 children sons,Harry, Mark, James Fitzgerald,and 2 daughters,Mrs Orville Miller and Mrs.Carl Schmidt,all of Sidney.
8 grandchildren also survive in her close family circle with her children and her brother.
The deceased had lived a good Christian life and was a lifelong member of the Holy Angels church.
She was enrolled in the Sacred Heart Alter society of that church
