Mosezickle Ray Pitts aka Ray M. Pitts Sr. born in Chandler- Lincoln County, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 13 Pitts children. At his death he left behind his widow Helen Pitts of Oklahoma City- Two step-sons Robert & Larry Young of Stroud. He also had 7 children by his wife of whom are Rayford L. Pitts; Wanda L. Pitts; Norris E. Pitts; Velma J. Pitts; Lora A. Pitts; Mosezickle Pitts II and Yulonda P. Pitts, all of Oklahoma City. In addition Mosezickle fathered a child apart from his marriage to Helen his wife. On December 7, 1970 the girlfriend of Mosezickle ( Rethola Marie Anderson Locus) gave birth to his last child; Shirley Marie Anderson Pitts in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


Pitts became know famously through books created by author Mosezickle Pitts II entitled Sweet Home Acres, a book based on the lives-times and ancestors of the Pitts family history throughout the United States spanning 180+ years and covering 4 generations.


The headstone placed on his grave was created by the hands of his youngest son author Mosezickle Pitts II. The Lincoln County Museum Of Pioneer History located in Chandler, Oklahoma houses memorabilia of the Pitts family including books and T-shirts to be sold accordingly with proceeds to benefit the museum in helping preserve Chandler history whereby the author Mosezickle Pitts II is an active member and hold book signing events. His current project in memory of his late father, Mosezickle Pitts Sr. is creating a movie to commemorate the life and times of the Pitts family's quadroon history.
