BENTON
Edith May GIFFORD, 91, of 13023 State Highway 37, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in the Franklin Hospital, Benton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, with the Rev. Robert DIAL officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. GIFFORD was born Sept. 22, 1907, in Franklin County, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (WOODS) HURST. She married Stanley GIFFORD on June 5, 1928, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1970.
She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Palestine Baptist Church, Whittington.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary and husband John TRUITT, Peoria, Martha HOUSE, Normal; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and two infant sons preceded her in death.
