Age 54 Years.

Loving son of Ransom and Elizabeth(Driggs)Ashley of Detroit. Brother of Emma(Ripley), Angeline and Mary. Ferdinand was in the real estate business and Saginaw City Controller. He was very close to his sister Emma and is buried in the Ripley Family Plot.

Military: Enlisted in the Twenty-third Infantry, as Quartermaster Sargeant, August 12, 1862 at Vassar for three years. Age 21. Mustered September 13, 1862. Discharged to accept promotion December 18, 1862. Commisioned Second Lieutenant, Company B, October 3, 1862. Commisioned First Lieutenant, Company C, February 26, 1863. Mustered June 27, 1863. Resigned and honorably discharged February 23, 1864.

Cause of Death: Bright's Disease
