Macon, Mo., February 8th--Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hanks, who occupy a small but well kept farm east of Macon, celebrated the fifty-sixth anniversary of their married life. They were joined together in Kentucky, February 8, 1842. Mr. Hanks was born in Mercer county, that state, January 1, 1820. His wife, goes him a few years better, her birth having occurred August 2, 1818.
Mr. Hanks was a cousin of President Lincoln, his mother and Mrs. Nancy Hanks being sisters.
