Funeral services for Irma L. Schipper, 86, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church with Reverend M.L. Agnew officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Schipper was born September 30, 1922 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Ida Mae (Kersey) and Harrell H. Moore, and died Monday, December 1, 2008 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Schipper had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She enjoyed her work as a manicurist, and retired at the age of 77. Mrs. Schipper was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who gave unconditional love to those around her. She always gave more of herself than she ever expected from others. Mrs. Schipper loved to sing, and enjoyed traveling. She was a Christian and was faithful to the Lord. Mrs. Schipper was a member of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willard "Bill" Schipper of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Carlene Thomason of Lufkin, Joe and Lupe Thomason of Wilmer and John William and Grace Thomason of Gun Barrel City; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bill Farmer of Oskaloosa, Kansas and Barbara and R.A. Brookshire of Lufkin; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Moore, Adam Thomason, Chris Cole, Harold Moore, Jr., Rodney Keith Moore and Glenn Malone.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sr. Kiwanis Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, 919 South John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or Heart to Heart Hospice of Lufkin, 1320 South John Redditt Drive, Suite A, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
