Annie Mae English was born in Morris Township Tioga County, PA. She was the Daughter of Girdon English and Dorothy Ann Burton English. She married Robert Mial Blackwell on 3 Sep 1918 in Morris PA. Parents of: Mrs. Vivian Louise Blackwell Hunter (27 Jun 1919 - 21 Sep 2004); John Henry (15 Mar 1921 - 15 Sep 1991); Freda Arlene (1922 – 2002); Lela Mae (1924 – 1954); Corporal Willis Wellwood Blackwell (10 Mar 1930 - 17 Sep 2006), Veteran Korean War; Floyd Melvin (1933 – 1952); Howard Basil (1933 – 1933); and Shirley Ann Blackwell (1936 – 1952); and one living child. Tragedy struck the family at 3AM 23 May 1952 when a home fire took the life of Annie Mae English Blackwell and her two children, Shirley Ann and Floyd Melvin, as they attempted to rescue her from the second story.
