Michael J. Tluscik, Sr., 48, of Kansas City, Kan., collapsed at work Wednesday, November 21, 2007. He was taken to an area hospital were he was pronounced dead. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 North 7th Street, KCK. Entombment Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Mid-West Regional Burn Foundation, PO Box 248, Shawnee, KS 66201 or the KCK Firefighters Relief Association or the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 64, Community Services Committee.

Michael was born June 9, 1959, to Joseph C. and Janet A. (Thomas) Tluscik in Kansas City, Kan. He was a Firefighter with the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department, joining the department in 1992, serving most of his career at Station 14. He was a loving and devoted father. One of his passions was love of time spent at the Lake of the Ozarks. We know he has now taken his last trip to the lake where his spirit will live on forever. Michael was very proud to be a Fireman and valued the many friendships he made while serving as Firefighter. He was also a skilled carpenter and awesome cook. He was loved by many and will be missed forever. He was a Catholic and attended St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, a member of the Firefighters Union, Local 64, and the Firefighters, Relief Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Tluscik. He is survived by his mother, Janet Tluscik; four children, Stephanie Tluscik, Michael J. Tluscik, Jr., Kinsley Tluscik and Holly Tluscik, all of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, David Tluscik (Janice), San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Mary Mears (Mark), Shawnee, Kan., and Helen Tluscik, Mission, Kan.; beloved aunts, Mary Ann Thomas, Kansas City, Kan., and Sr. Mary John Thomas, OSB, Denver, Colo.; former wife, Gina Sielert.
