Kay was a daughter of Norman Simpson and Clara Mae Sherrell. She married James G. Snodgrass (b. 12 November 1943) 18 Dec 1966 in White County, Tennessee. She was the mother of Lisa Carol Snodgrass, whose life ended the same day as her's, drowned when their car ran off the road into water in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
