MR. TANKERSLEY

VALLEY -- Mr. Teddy Tankersley, 74, of Valley died Sunday, April 8, 2001 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Shawmut with the Rev. Jerome King officiating. Burial will follow at Langdale Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Terry (Cindy) Tankersley of Valley.

Mr. Tankersley was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Tankersley.

The son of the late Nancy Kate Terry Tankersley and Lee Tankersley, he was born March 25, 1927 in Langdale. Mr. Tankersley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Tankersley was a retired employee of the Interstate Telephone Company with more than 33 years of service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or to the First Baptist Church of Shawmut.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 9 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley,
