Longtime Valliant resident Walter "Lowell" Reynolds, 96, passed away Nov. 12, 2008, in Sherman, Texas. Lowell was born August 26, 1912 in Val-liant, the son of Walter Lewis Reynolds and Violet Lola (Lites) Reynolds and had lived in Valliant since 1948 prior to moving to Sherman earlier this year. He married Claudine But-ler on June 15, 1941. She pre-ceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Edith Reynolds Collins.
He loved his Ham Radio Club, enjoyed checking his cat-tle, liked to fish and hunt and enjoyed eating ice cream. He especially loved his family and his church. Lowell had worked as a bank teller, retail clerk, and rural mail carrier. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Valliant; a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the McCurtain County Amateur Radio Club, and the NRA.
Survivors include two daugh-ters, Nan Pittman and husband Curtis of Kingston and Suzanne Staring of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Harold Reynolds and wife Beth of St. Mary's City, Md.; five grandchildren, Shara Cooper and husband Bill, Blake Pittman and wife Brenda, DeeAnn Pittman, Cliff Martin, and Amy Martin Parker and husband Clay; six great grand-children, Lee, Baylee, Gary, Kaitlin, Ace`Lee, and Mikyla; one great great grandson, BlakeLee; along with many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Fri-day, Nov. 14, 2008, at the fu-neral home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, Val-liant, with Bro. Fay Chronister and Bro. Mike Mings officiat-ing. Interment will follow in Valliant Cemetery.
